Baan Dam — The Black House Museum

Baan Dam is the anti-White Temple: a compound of nearly forty black timber buildings created by the late national artist Thawan Duchanee as his home, studio and museum.
Each house is decorated with intricate woodcarving and animal remains — buffalo horns, antlers, elephant bone, crocodile skin — arranged with unsettling precision. It remains open to visitors after his death.
